I had thought nothing about what inspires me to paint "this" or "that" before being asked that question. A theme did arise though, once I pondered my "why". I LOVE landscapes!!! It has been said that they are not popular at this moment in time. I do not care about that. That is what I most enjoy. The feeling of diving into trying to create the emotion felt while being present in the place where a photo reference was taken is powerful...putting memories on canvas.

Each painting is more than a landscape to me. Each is a celebration of our amazing planet and my wonder of it all. Frequently, the colors are saturated giving the memory an over-the-rainbow feeling...adding a little extra something from the view through my rose- colored glasses to bring peace and joy to an often painful world. I want my work to reflect what is good, to bring a smile and sense of calm.

Other subject matter interests me from time to time. It is fun to experiment. And, why not?! Life is ever evolving. With any luck, we are learning and growing and ever evolving as well.
